YMCA Moldova organized in Chișinău the National Workshop “Exploring AI and Digital Inclusion in Education – A National Youth Dialogue for Future-Ready Learning in Moldova”, an event that brought together teachers, young people, digital education experts, and representatives of public institutions to discuss the digital transformation of education in the Republic of Moldova. The event aimed to promote critical thinking and inclusive dialogue on the role of technology and artificial intelligence in the educational process, highlighting the need for the school system to adapt to new digital realities and future skills requirements.
The workshop included two discussion panels: the first focused on digital infrastructure, teacher training, and identifying students’ needs; the second addressed the impact of artificial intelligence in education, ethical challenges, and the use of personalized digital tools. The discussions were enriched by contributions from experts in education and youth policy, including Laurenția Filipschi, Executive Director of Junior Achievement Moldova; Dragoș Tarța, elected member of the Advisory Council on Youth of the Council of Europe; Daniela Aftenev, Deputy Head of the General Directorate for Education, Youth and Sports of the Chișinău Municipality; and Tudor Lapp, trainer at the National Center for Digital Innovation in Education “Class of the Future.”
During the event, the winners of the Digital Excellence Awards 2025 were announced—awards based on a national research study conducted by YMCA Moldova between May and September 2025. The distinctions recognized institutions and professionals contributing to the advancement of digital education in the Republic of Moldova. This year’s awards went to: the “Kirill and Methodius” Educational Complex in Chișinău for the Most Digitally Adapted School; the “Mica Arcă” Youth Community Center for Best Digital Facilitator; Tudor Lapp for the Most Innovative Digital Solution; and the Chișinău Municipal Youth Center for Best Youth Center in Digital Innovation and Infrastructure.
The event is part of the project “Digital Educational Centers in the Republic of Moldova”, implemented by YMCA Moldova with the support of HP Inc., which aims to strengthen the digital skills of young people, teachers, and educational centers across the country. Through this workshop, YMCA Moldova reaffirms its commitment to promoting digital inclusion, educational innovation, and preparing the young generation for a future where technology plays a central role in the learning process.
