The year 2024 was a year of major impact, innovation, and strategic consolidation for YMCA Moldova. It marked a significant step forward with the official launch of the YMCA Community Resource and Development Center in Chisinau — a modern, safe, and inclusive space dedicated to youth and refugees.

The Community Center has become a hub for personal and professional development, offering free services in digital education, psychological counseling, legal aid, and employment support. At the same time, our humanitarian efforts continued nationwide, providing food packages, vouchers, and hygiene products to more than 3,000 vulnerable families.

The “Support & Inclusion & Integration of Ukrainian Refugees 2.0” program, implemented with the support of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, delivered integrated services to over 9,000 beneficiaries across Moldova.

In the field of digital inclusion, 2024 marked the launch of the first Gaming Garage in Europe at YMCA Moldova, in partnership with HP Inc., as well as the expansion of Digital Educational Centers. Through the HP IDEA Academy, more than 200 teachers from 35 schools in Chisinau enhanced their digital competencies.

Through the YMCA Digital Media Hub, over 200 young people were trained in media production, podcasting, and digital communication. We organized educational camps for more than 600 children and hosted, for the first time in Chisinau, the YMCA Europe National General Secretaries Forum — a milestone event that strengthened YMCA Moldova’s position within the European movement.

2024 confirmed YMCA Moldova’s role not only as a project implementer but as a strategic actor in youth and community development in the Republic of Moldova.
