The YMCA Moldova team visited the AIM Moldova Youth Center in the town of Ialoveni, where they organized an interactive session focused on personal development, self-discovery, and career guidance for young people, offering them the opportunity to explore new educational and career perspectives, as well as to develop the skills needed for the future.
The activity was carried out as part of the project “Career Guidance and Employment for Rural Youth in the Republic of Moldova,” implemented by YMCA Moldova in partnership with Kerk in Actie (the Netherlands). The project aims to support young people in identifying their own aptitudes and interests, developing personal and professional skills, and facilitating access to information and resources useful for their integration into the labor market.
During the session, participants engaged in various self-discovery exercises, practical activities, and interactive discussions, through which they explored the importance of choosing a profession that aligns with their own skills, passions, and aspirations. The young people were encouraged to analyze their strengths, identify their professional interests, and reflect on their personal goals as well as the steps required to achieve them.
Particular emphasis was placed on the development of digital and professional skills, the importance of effective communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to the current demands of the labor market. At the same time, topics such as professional training opportunities, further education, and employment prospects available in the Republic of Moldova were addressed, enabling participants to gain a better understanding of the options at their disposal.
Through interactive activities, young people had the opportunity to express their opinions, share ideas, and discuss the challenges they encounter when choosing a profession. These discussions helped highlight the importance of consciously planning one’s educational and professional path, as well as the role that continuous learning plays in career development.
In a society undergoing constant transformation, career guidance serves as an essential tool for preparing the younger generation. Access to relevant information, the development of practical skills, and an understanding of labor market demands can help young people make informed decisions and build a professional future tailored to their own interests and aspirations.
By organizing such sessions, YMCA Moldova continues to contribute to developing the potential of young people in the Republic of Moldova, promoting equitable access to educational and professional opportunities and encouraging their active involvement in the process of personal growth and development.
