In Ungheni, within the Senior Center, we carried out a new activity dedicated to the digital inclusion of older people, part of the Digital Inclusion for Adults & Seniors in Moldova initiative. A group of 25 seniors participated in a practical session in which they learned to use a laptop, browse the internet, create and use an email, as well as access useful information for everyday life.

The activity was structured in an interactive format and adapted to the learning pace of seniors. Participants had the opportunity to practice directly on the devices, ask questions, and receive individual support from the facilitators. The focus was on trust, online safety and digital autonomy, so that each participant can use technology independently and responsibly.

Through such activities, we contribute to reducing social isolation, increasing access to digital services, and strengthening the skills needed in an increasingly digitalized society. The reactions and enthusiasm of seniors in Ungheni confirm the necessity and impact of these interventions at the local level. This action is carried out within the “Digital Empowerment Programme 2026” project, implemented by YMCA Moldova in partnership with YMCA Europe and HP Inc.
