YMCA Moldova, in partnership with the Chisinau City Hall, the General Department of Education, Youth and Sport, and the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center, continues to invest in the professional development of young people by launching the informational material “Your Professional Path.” This poster is a modern and accessible resource designed to help students from both rural and urban areas better understand their abilities, vocation, and available career guidance opportunities.
The material presents the “fundamental stages” of a career journey in a clear and visual format – from self-discovery, exploring options, and setting a direction, to action and adaptation. These stages encourage young people to identify their interests, personal values, and dominant type of intelligence, which are essential elements in the process of choosing a profession. The poster also highlights the idea that a professional path is flexible and that changing direction along the way is natural and healthy.
An important part of the material addresses the distinction between a “job” and a “career,” a concept often misunderstood by teenagers. While a job may be temporary and focused on immediate income, a career involves long-term growth, personal development, motivation, and meaningful progression. The poster emphasizes values, vocation, and the purpose of work as defining components of long-term professional choices.
Additionally, the resource includes guidance on development opportunities for young people in Moldova and Europe, such as Erasmus+, Voluntar.md, Civic.md, and programs of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center. These platforms offer access to international exchanges, training sessions, civic engagement, and opportunities for internships or employment. The poster also recommends the HP LIFE online learning platform, where young people can take free courses in marketing, finance, leadership, and essential digital skills.
Through this initiative, YMCA Moldova supports the career development of young generations, providing practical and relevant tools for navigating a rapidly evolving labor market. “Your Professional Path” reflects the organization’s mission to empower young people to build a safe and informed future by motivating them and helping them discover the resources available in Moldova and across Europe.
