As part of the “Digital Inclusion for Adults & Seniors in Moldova” project, YMCA Moldova continues to conduct digital literacy activities for seniors at the Municipal Center for Adult Education and Learning, offering them the opportunity to discover the benefits of modern technology and develop the skills needed to use digital tools and services in their daily lives.

During the sessions, participants learn how to use laptops and smartphones, browse the internet safely, create and manage an email account, and access various online platforms and services. Special emphasis is placed on using technology to communicate with family and loved ones, as well as to access information, public services, and banking applications—thereby helping to increase the digital autonomy and independence of seniors.

The activities are organized in an interactive and accessible format, adapted to the pace of learning and the needs of the participants. Through practical exercises, demonstrations and individual support provided by facilitators, beneficiaries have the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge, ask questions and gain more confidence in using digital technologies.

An important element of the training sessions is online safety. Seniors become familiar with the main risks present on the internet, methods for identifying fraudulent messages and scam attempts, protecting personal data, and using digital services responsibly. This knowledge is essential for preventing scams and creating a safer online environment.

Through the “Digital Inclusion for Adults & Seniors in Moldova” project, YMCA Moldova aims to bridge the digital divide between generations, promote lifelong learning, and facilitate access for older adults to the opportunities offered by technology.

Such initiatives contribute to increasing seniors’ confidence in their own abilities, fostering digital independence, and building a more inclusive society, in which every person—regardless of age—can benefit from the advantages of digital transformation.
