Students from the “Viorel Găină” Gymnasium No. 74 in Tohatin Commune talk about the importance of the bags and backpacks received through the “HP-YMCA Initiative for Rural Education” project and how this support helps them with their daily school activities.
School backpacks and bags are already in use by students, becoming part of their daily routine and accompanying them to classes, educational activities, and the learning process. For children, a backpack represents more than just a necessary school item—it is a practical aid that enables them to easily organize and carry their supplies, books, and study materials.
At the same time, the students’ joy demonstrates just how important such support can be for children and their families. Receiving a new schoolbag gives students greater confidence and motivation, helping to foster a positive attitude toward school and the learning process.
Through the “HP-YMCA Initiative for Rural Education” project, YMCA Moldova aims to contribute to supporting education and providing the most equitable opportunities possible for children, particularly those in communities where such resources and forms of support are needed.
Through this initiative, over 18,000 schoolbags and backpacks have reached students in educational institutions across the Republic of Moldova. Each donation represents tangible support for education and families, as well as a contribution to creating better conditions for children’s participation in the educational process.
The experience of students at the “Viorel Găină” Gymnasium No. 74 in Tohatin shows that, beyond its material value, each schoolbag can bring joy, confidence, and motivation, encouraging children to look toward school and their own futures with greater optimism.
