The year 2023 marked a period of transformation, expansion, and consolidation for YMCA Moldova. In a regional context still shaped by the consequences of the war in Ukraine, our organization continued to provide comprehensive support to refugees, youth, and vulnerable communities across the Republic of Moldova.

Throughout the year, we delivered humanitarian assistance, legal and psychological support, employment integration services, and educational programs for children and young people. The national food distribution program for Ukrainian refugees remained active, while digital skills development initiatives reached an unprecedented scale.

The “Digital Education Centres in the Republic of Moldova” project, implemented with the support of HP Inc., became the largest digital equity initiative ever carried out by an NGO in the country, equipping hundreds of educational institutions, youth centers, and community organizations.

In 2023, we organized more than 30 day camps for children from rural and disadvantaged backgrounds, strengthened partnerships with local public authorities and international organizations such as YMCA Europe, World YMCA, and Presbyterian Church (USA), and laid the foundation for the YMCA Community Center in Chisinau, officially opening in 2024.

2023 confirmed YMCA Moldova’s capacity to implement large-scale projects, mobilize strong partnerships, and generate tangible impact for communities.
