YMCA Moldova attended the event organized by Caritas Moldova to distribute school backpacks and bags to children from socially vulnerable families, providing them with much-needed support at the start of the new school year.

The event marked a new step in the collaboration between YMCA Moldova and Caritas Moldova—two organizations joining forces to reach the children and families most in need of support. Through this partnership, initiatives focused on education and social inclusion can reach a larger number of beneficiaries and address specific needs within the communities.

For the children receiving them, a new schoolbag represents more than just a necessary school item; it signifies the opportunity to start and continue the school year better prepared, with greater confidence and motivation. At the same time, the donation offers practical support to families, helping to alleviate some of the costs associated with getting children ready for school.

The school backpacks and bags distributed during the event were provided through the “HP-YMCA Initiative for Rural Education” project, implemented by YMCA Moldova in partnership with HP Inc. and with the support of the DAAC Hermes Group. The initiative aims to support education and provide greater opportunities for children and young people in the Republic of Moldova, particularly those from communities and families in need of additional support.

Through this initiative, over 18,000 schoolbags and backpacks have reached students and young people across the Republic of Moldova. Their nationwide distribution contributes to promoting equitable access to education and creating better conditions for children’s participation in the educational process.

The collaboration with Caritas Moldova demonstrates the importance of organizations and partners pooling their resources and expertise to generate a greater impact within communities. Through such initiatives, support reaches those who need it most, turning every schoolbag into a tangible gesture of backing for a child’s education and future.
