The YMCA Moldova team visited the “Ștefan cel Mare” Theoretical High School in the town of Florești, where they organized an interactive session focused on personal development, career guidance, and preparing young people for future educational and employment opportunities. The event brought together students interested in discovering their potential, developing their skills, and exploring various perspectives on choosing a career.
The session was held as part of the project “Career Guidance and Employment for Youth in Rural Areas of the Republic of Moldova,” implemented by YMCA Moldova in partnership with Kerk in Actie (the Netherlands). The project aims to support young people from rural communities in the process of self-discovery, identifying their personal interests and aptitudes, developing skills required in the labor market, and making informed decisions regarding their educational and professional futures.
Throughout the activity, students took part in self-discovery exercises, educational games, practical tasks, and interactive discussions focused on choosing a profession, identifying personal strengths, and leveraging individual skills. Special emphasis was placed on developing digital and professional competencies, effective communication, CV preparation, and navigating job interviews, providing participants with valuable information and guidance for their professional futures.
At the same time, the young people explored opportunities for study, vocational training, and employment available in the Republic of Moldova, discussing the importance of lifelong learning, adapting to current labor market demands, and developing practical skills. Through exercises and the exchange of ideas, the students were encouraged to analyze their own interests, set goals, and identify the steps needed to build a career path tailored to their aspirations.
By organizing these non-formal education activities, YMCA Moldova continues to contribute to the personal and professional development of young people in the Republic of Moldova, facilitating access to information, tools, and learning experiences that can help them realize their potential and become better prepared for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
We thank the leadership of the “Ștefan cel Mare” Theoretical High School in Florești for their openness and cooperation, as well as the students for the interest they showed, their active involvement, and their participation in the organized activities.
