The YMCA Moldova team visited the “Ștefan cel Mare” Theoretical High School in the town of Florești, where they organized an interactive session focused on personal development, self-discovery, and career guidance for young people, offering them the opportunity to explore new educational and career perspectives.
The activity was carried out as part of the project “Career Guidance and Employment for Rural Youth in the Republic of Moldova,” implemented by YMCA Moldova in partnership with Kerk in Actie (the Netherlands), with the aim of supporting young people in identifying their personal interests and aptitudes, developing the skills necessary for integration into the labor market, and preparing for future career choices.
During the session, students engaged in various self-discovery exercises, practical activities, and interactive discussions, through which they explored the importance of choosing a profession that aligns with their own skills, passions, and aspirations. Furthermore, the session covered topics such as the development of digital and professional competencies, the significance of effective communication and teamwork, and the importance of adaptability to the current demands of the labor market.
Particular emphasis was placed on encouraging young people to analyze their own strengths, set personal and professional goals, and understand the importance of continuous education in building a successful career. Through the exchange of ideas and participation in interactive activities, students had the opportunity to reflect on development opportunities and the steps they can take to turn their aspirations into achievable goals.
By organizing these sessions, YMCA Moldova continues to contribute to developing the potential of young people in the Republic of Moldova, promoting access to information, education, and career guidance opportunities. Such initiatives play an important role in preparing the new generation for the challenges of the future, strengthening young people’s confidence in their own abilities, and encouraging them to make informed decisions regarding their educational and professional paths.
We thank the administration of the “Ștefan cel Mare” Theoretical High School in Florești for their openness and cooperation, as well as the students for the interest they showed and their active participation in the session.
